Coming to her number. I went to knock. Then paused. It was after one in the morning, we had parted ways seven hours ago. She’d have to be asleep.

  “Wrong room.”

I turned looking up the hall. Seeing Hawk standing there. “That’s Autumn’s room. Or is that why you were about to knock?” he challenged me. I could lie, or I could just fucking say. Hey man I was about to fuck your daughter. Or at least wanted to fuck her.

“My bad Prez.” I replied with half a grin, and he looked me up and down. Not impressed.

I walked across the hall, opening my rooms door and then closing it behind myself. Fuck where had he even come from?

I shrugged off my vest, looking around at the boxes. I was a Nomad so I didn’t have shitloads of stuff. But I had a storage unit here, in my hometown. So, I had the basics in here.

A knock on my door made me groan. Looks like Hawk wants a confrontation.

I turned back around, opening the door, and my eyes widened.

  “Autumn?”

She smiled, “Did you get caught?”

I leant against the door frame. “What can I say darling, I dance on the law, but I ain’t in a hurry to get my dick chopped off by your old man.”

Her smile turned into a grin, and my eyes flickered over her. Fuck she was gorgeous. Her blonde hair was flowing down her back, and those vivid emerald eyes were looking into me. I couldn’t lie and say I hadn’t taken in the fact that she wasn’t wearing a bra under that t-shirt.

“Well, then I should go.” She ran a hand through her hair, her top going up, showing me her perfect flat tanned stomach. “After all, it sounds like I’m bad company.”

My hand went around her hip, onto her back— and I pulled her into me.

“Stay?” It was one word. One question. So why the fuck was I pinning so much hope to it?

She licked her bottom lip. And then it was the sound of someone coming, that had me pulling her in, and closing the door behind her. So I ended up making the decision for her.

With her in my arm, pressed into my chest, my eyes looking down at her.

“Sorry. I just thought—” She silenced me with her lips.

Just a taste of her, sent a rush through my body. It was like an electric shock, as my hands gripped her sides, slipping under her t-shirt. Pushing it up.

The scent of daisies and strawberries consumed me. I wanted to see her naked— I needed to see her naked. Fuck, why the hell was I so interested in her? Why was I so consumed with this girl?

I kept pushing her top up, finally she put her hands in the air, and I took it off. Dropping it on the ground. I then lifted her up, walking her to my bed, lowering her down.

My lips going off her mouth, and down her neck. She inhaled sharply as the coldness of my rings hit her skin, as I slowly ran my knuckles down her centre. Fuck. I was going to take my time with her.

Then a loud knock on my door— well more like a banging, fucking had me having to pull myself off her.

“Just give me one minute to get this bastard to leave.” I said before kissing her stomach and walking to my door. Opening it and seeing Jacob, I was quick to take a stand outside the door so he didn’t get the view of his sister that I had just been admiring.

“It’s late Jacob, what you want?”

  “Hawk just called church.”

  “It’s one in the morning!”

“Yeah, so it must be important.” He eyed me down. “Tell the woman who ya were fucking, you’ll have to finish her later.” He had a smug expression on his face, knowing he had ruined my plans. Little did he know I had the upper hand, but I wasn’t about to say that it was Autumn in my bed.

I stepped back in, closing the door. Turning around I caught sight of Autumn picking up her shirt.

“Sorry, ya old man wants a word.” I ran a hand through my hair.

“Not my old man.” She spoke, with a tone that told me I had hit a sore spot. I just didn’t understand how.

“He’s your father, isn’t he?” I questioned her, and she looked at me with this hardened expression.

“Legally yes.” And then she moved around me. “Night Cage.”

She walked out of my room, not caring if anyone saw her, and I don’t know why, but I just knew— something was wrong with her. But I didn’t listen to my gut, instead I threaded my vest back on, and headed to church.

  Chapter Eleven

  Autumn

I ran my hand through my hair. Looking at the tablets on my bedside table. I knew I had to have them, but a part of me— a loud part, was telling me everything was shit anyway, so what was the point?

The wrecking ball had come through my life, destroying it from what it once was. And now I wasn’t sure what to do. First day of school. Which meant facing Dylan. Which meant facing everyone who had heard the rumours.

  Everyone knew.

  Everyone was judging.

And that tablet was meant to help everything? I scoffed, and picked it up, walking into my ensuite. Dropping it in the sink and running the water.

No amount of medication was going to fix my issues. If anything— they just numbed me more, and I was already numbed to the point that I couldn’t see the light.

I turned the shower on and stripped. Time to get ready for high school. Fuck my life. Oh wait, god already did and has left me with the pieces to keep going on with.

  HAWK

The boys were all in foul moods. Had something to do with the fact I had all of them raiding houses across town. I had got a lead on the car that hit Emily’s car, and tracked it to a grow house, and now I wanted to find out more information.

I knew it was dead lead—but I had to put up a front.

Cage stormed into the clubhouse. I put my phone down, reading the headlines about criminal corruption, as he looked at me clearly pissed off. Jacob followed him in, having a similar expression.

“Dead ends.” Cage said and looked at me. “Didn’t know all night stake outs were on my job list.”

“I say jump, you say how high son.” I suppressed my smirk.

Cage wasn’t the type of man that took being told well. However, being President meant— I said, he did.

Cage scoffed and went to get into with me about it. The man never was afraid of a fight. One of the reasons he was a perfect enforcer.

Catching movement out of the corner of my eye, I see Acorn, and my hands clenched into fists.

“What the fuck is that!” I hiss at her get up.

“What?” She looked at me annoyed. Well, at least she answered me.

“What you’re wearing.” I barked out, and she rolled her eyes in response.

“This would be my school uniform.” She replied dryly.

“Looks like ya heading to a porn shoot little sis, not school.” Jacob backed up my concern.

“Go get changed.” I ordered. And she just crossed her arms.

  “No.”

“Was it that small last year?” Jacob muttered, and he had a fucking point. Had she taken scissors to it or something?

Autumn groaned. “For Christ shake, my boobs are bigger! Now can we drop the uniform conversation!”

“No.” I was not letting her leave, wearing that. “Change I’ll write a note about you being out of a uniform.” It was the best I could come up with.

She uncrossed her arms and placed a hand on her hip, “Hawk, reel the protectiveness in. It’s just high school.” And then she picked up her bag. “And I’m running late.” She then walked past us, putting a hand in the air, thinking this conversation was over.

I watched Cage’s eyes follow her, as she walked past. Fuck if that man was staring, there was no way in hell, boys wouldn’t notice.

“Jacob.” I threw him the truck keys. “Take her to school, and the first boy that looks at her threaten him, make a scene. Should be enough to keep the rest of them to stay clear for the day.”

He nodded his head and went after her.

  I wanted to kill him.

  But I couldn’t.

I did however pull him off the poor middle schooler who wolf whistled at me. Jacob knew how to scare kids! I told him he proved his point which he then walked off with a smirk on his face.

Sitting down in class, I was scrolling through my feed on Facebook, when I heard him. Dylan. That light-hearted chuckle.

I inhaled sharply and kept my eyes on my phone.

Then as I was about to keep scrolling, a notification popped up. Friend request. Cage Hurley. There was no profile picture. Automatic red flags not to accept. But then again. I knew a Cage but thinking he had Facebook was a long shot.

My thumb hovered over the delete button and then again, what if it was Cage? So I went against my better judgement and accepted it.

The bell rang signalling class starting. I put my phone in my pocket and Dylan had already walked in and took a seat in the back, right behind me.

The teacher gave their run of the mill speech about expectations and I wasn’t really paying attention. My phone buzzed in my pocket, so I pulled it out. Seeing as the teacher had his back to us.

  Messenger notification. From Cage Hurley.

My eyes widened slightly. Cage had sent me a message? But then again how did I know that this was my Cage. I wanted to roll my eyes at myself. My Cage. The man wasn’t mine.

I opened the message. Sliding my thumb across the screen.

You didn’t tell me you were seventeen.

I sighed. So he thought I was older. Guessed I should have expected that. My fingers dashed to the keyboard.

Didn’t c it as an issue. Sry for not telling u. not like u fucked me anyways. So don't stress u did the right thing.

I guess when it came down to it, he wasn’t the type of man to want to be with a teenager. The bubbles came up automatically.

I never do the right thing. I like you in that school dress.

  I smiled.

So does nearly every other male here.

  The bubbles popped back up.

Did Jacob not scare them off?

  My teeth grinded together.

So you all were in on that stunt he pulled this morning?

“Phones away please.” The teacher cleared his voice, and I hadn’t even realized he was at my side. I sighed putting it away, and looking up at him, only to notice his eyes were on my cleavage.

He then saw that I noticed he was staring, and he looked away, heading for the front of the class.

It was only now, after scoring the attention of my teacher that I thought, perhaps I would have to replace this dress. Great that meant shopping.

  * * *

The bell rang, and the class started to empty.

“Autumn, can I have a word?” The teacher known as Mr H cleared his voice.

Picking up my books. I hovered back, as everyone emptied the room— including Dylan. Who hadn’t said a word to me.

“I just wanted to tell you personally how sorry I am for your loss.” Mr H said, and my hand was on his desk, his hand going over top it.

“Really extremely sorry. If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know.”

I blinked a few times, and then I wasn’t sure. Was he coming on to me? No. Not possible.

“Um thanks.” I blew out, and went to take my hand away, when he gave it a squeeze.

“You’re a good girl Autumn.” His eyes dropped and I felt immediately uncomfortable.

My phone started vibrating in my pocket and I pulled it out.

“I need to grab this. Um thanks again.” I said, and pulled my hand from his grasp, quickly leaving the room. I made it out into the corridor, my heart beating a mile a minute as I clenched my buzzing phone.

Finally, I answered it. Couldn’t help but think, what if it hadn’t rung— how the hell would I have gotten out of there?

“Hello?” I blew into the phone, sounding as breathless as I felt.

“I can’t pick you up. Organizing one of the boys to. Just giving you a heads up.”

  It was Jacob.

“Okay.” I wasn’t even going to argue. I then hung up. My heart still racing. God what the hell was that with my teacher?

  * * *

Moving my bag on my shoulder I walked out to the front of the school and my eyes drank him in.

He was straddling his bike. Club colours. His arms crossed, as he balanced holding the bike up with his legs, and his eyes were on his phone. The tattoos ran up his left arm, and I didn’t even realize, he had a sleeve till now.

His one neck tattoo told me that there was a strong chance he had more tattoos then the ones showing.

I went to walk towards him.

“You aren’t seriously seeing one of them, are you?” I turned, seeing Dylan standing there furious. “This will ruin my reputation.” He gritted the words out.

“It’s zero of your business Dylan.” I wanted to throw every word he had said during our breakup at him. But I didn’t. He said I would sink low; well I guess I just hit rock bottom.

His eyes went off me and widened. Looking to my side, I felt his hand on my back, before I saw him. I nearly jumped having someone touch me. I wasn’t used to it.

“Come on darling,” Cage said, and I turned to face him. His eyes darted to my lips before he looked up.

He took my hand and guided me back to his bike. Mounting his bike. I threw my leg over. I couldn’t help but think how far I’ve came as I did up Cage’s helmet on me.

Cage had a smug expression on his face as he took off. And thank god it wasn’t slow, well at first, then he revved through the gears and I clung to him like a koala.

  Chapter Thirteen

  CAGE

“No club colors. No fighting. No guns. No knifes and at all fucking times, keep the fact you ride for a one percent to yourself.” Hawk grilled them, laying down the laws for the boys. “And don’t bring any citizens back here.”

I was sitting back amused, watching Jacob and Lit’s reaction to being told how to behave in a nightclub.

It was Lit’s birthday and usually that meant a club party. But not in this case. They were old schooling it and going clubbing. I think they just wanted to pick up women that weren’t club ones, and perhaps the fact that there was a college crawl tonight had an allure to them going.

Considering these seven men looked like fucking bikers, and criminals I doubted they would get in. One look at Lit and you would be expecting a fight. He had a temper and a half.

Lit was about to argue with Hawk about the whole, don’t bring the women back here point he made. When Lit’s eyes went to the side, and I saw her as well.

Her blonde hair dead straight, the heels giving her height, but it was the deep blue dress, with a diving neck line that had all the guys attention; including mine.

Autumn was so fucking lucky that Hawk’s phone had rang, and he had headed into the church boardroom to take the call.

No way in hell will he let her leave looking like that.

“So, you took me up on the offer princess.” Lit grinned, and my expression dropped. Wait a fucking minute, did she have us both on the go?!

Then again, we weren’t really on the go. But fuck it. I created a Facebook account for her!

“Since when was my little sister, your princess?” Jacob growled at Lit.

“It’s my birthday. I wanted her to come.”

  “She’s seventeen!”

“Actually, according to this I’m nineteen.” Autumn flashed a fake ID. “Don’t worry Jacob, it usually works.”

Wait a fucking second. It clicked. She was going out with them. If she went out with them there was no way, that Lit wouldn’t end up fucking her, or worse they would ‘get to know each other.’

  I wasn’t letting that happen.

I was going with them, fucking clubbing. I wanted to groan.

“Taxis are here.” Wild roared out to them. I think he just wanted them out of the club so he could drink in silence.

  A
utumn walked past them, having a conversation with some of the guys. And I was up as Jacob had a word with Lit. No way in hell was I letting Autumn out wearing that.

“Where you are going?” Jacob looked at me. I had made it clear earlier I wasn’t going.

“With you all. Someone has to make sure you seven don’t get fucking arrested,” I muttered.

“Didn’t ya hear Prez? No colors.” Lit looked at my club cut. So I shrugged it off. “Or guns, or knives.” He added. And I was already undoing my holsters.

Fuck I felt naked without my weapons.

Was she worth this? I knew I could protect her with my fists if I had to, didn’t need the gun. But for us all to be going out naked, with drinking tempers- it was going to be a nightmare. If we didn’t end up behind bars, it would be a miracle.

  Autumn

The boys looked like criminals. Perhaps it was the fact that each one of them was in black. Tattoos. And tempers. First club wouldn’t let us in. The boys took it on the chin and went to the next one. They each got patted down, I however was ushered in— but waited for them to get through.

Then once they were in, it was fair to say. Well, there were no words. I ended up offering to get their drinks because they were scaring others away from the bar.

Their laughter could be seen, as they had taken over a booth. A few of them had women. My eyes went to Cage. I wondered if he knew yet? There was a blonde to the right that had her eyes on him, since he walked in.

I could understand why. He was tall, handsome, and those tattoos mixed with the tight black shirt, along with the dog tags around his neck, the neck tattoo and his laugh did wild things to me. I got a round of shots and weaved through the crowd, before placing them down on their table.
